Shampoo Cape
A hairdressing accessory designed to provide dignity and comfort to individuals with limited neck mobility when they are having their hair shampooed.
Project Timeline: Spring thru Summer 2020
Client is an entrepreneurial hairdresser employed part time at several nursing homes in the Atlanta area. The client hired Fantastech Designs to take a basic concept she had submitted to the USPTO and translate the concept into functional prototypes. After testing, Fantastech Designs used the results to generate a complete pattern and tech pack to enable the client to seek a manufacturer for the product.
The goal of this concept was to create a shampoo cape that could:
Fit around the head of a wearer while allowing a hairdresser to have full access to the wearer’s hair.
Create a watertight, but comfortable seal against the skin of the user.
Funnel water and shampoo directly into the wash basin without drenching the wearer or requiring the wearer to lean their neck back into the basin.
